You must select a request type from the drop down box.If you select an extraprovincial request type, you must enter the jurisdiction. |
If you are not sure which type of business structure is best for you, you should seek professional advice from an accountant and/or lawyer to ensure you make the right decision. Staff at the BC Registry cannot provide you with this information, however you can learn more about business structures by viewing our information packages.
Remember, having a name approved and reserved for a proprietorship or a partnership does not mean it will be approved for an incorporated company should you decide to incorporate after the business has been operating for awhile.
If you want to reserve a name for business that has a structure not listed above, please contact us directly.
Before you submit your name choices, be sure to review the information on choosing a name for the best possible success.
Whether you are just registering your business name, or incorporating a company it is recommended that you submit up to three choices of names. Enter your name choices in the order of preference. We stop examining when the first name is approved.
Ensure your names choices are distinctly different. Minor changes between choices may cause rejection for the same reason.
An extraprovincial company must submit only the name they are using in their home jurisdiction. If that name is rejected, you will be allowed to apply for an assumed name, in which case you can submit up to three name choices.
